Crowd Surfing (2009 - current)Starting summer 2009 I become full-time employed by Crowd Surfing, then still IT-Chemi. My job here is a continuation of my part-time employment with IT-Chemi, as well as software development. Currently I am also responsible for project and product quality assurance. As of fall 2009 I have been guiding interns into software development.
During this renewed time at Crowd Surfing I have been putting a lot of my software development education into practise, but I have also learned a lot about working with customers and presenting the company and myself.
In march 2009 I started working for IT-Chemi, primarily as a consultant and advisor. My education and experience were sought in order to help the company manage projects better.
Syntus B.V. (2008 - 2009)In 2008 I was hired by Syntus to create a mobile internet application. Syntus is a public transportation company that required manual counting of passengers on set days. My project was to build an application that would ask the busdriver on each set stop to input the amount of passenger currently on the bus.
Difficulties in this project were feeding the bus data into the system, the driver data and the stop data and combining that with the input of the busdriver to produce a useful overview per bus per line.
In my time at Syntus I learned much about data modelling and management.
During my study I was hired by IT-Chemi as a webdesigner and programmer. I worked on several small projects designing house styles and websites.
From winter 2005 on we have been developing an in-house, custom CMS, because no then-available CMS met our demands. CMS Webstruct has evevoled into one of the best SEO friendly CMS's that is available today.
At IT-Chemi I learned a lot about programming and webstandards.
My skills include the following.
Also:
I have experience working with documentation, encoding, unit testing and task automation tools for PHP. I am also familiar with the Zend Framework for PHP.
Radboud University Nijmegen (2004 - 2009)I have studied computer science in Nijmegen at the Radboud University. I have followed courses in mathematics, data modelling, programming, algorithmics & foundations, hardware & networking theory and management.
During my time here I have worked on the following notable projects for the faculty company.
My final software development project was to head the company for a semester, together with a co-student. Our tasks involved arranging projects for the next semester, meeting with clients for the current semester and keeping track of the running projects. The latter involved meeting with project leaders, HR managers and QA managers and assuring all projects would continue as planned.
Java server and applet to share applications between browser based client and remote client such as fMRI machine.
GUI for SOSA (Shuffle Optimization by Simulated Annealing).

I attended the St. Ludgercollege in Doetinchem for 6 years of 'VWO' level education. I chose the 'Natuur & Techniek' profile with latin, classical cultural oriëntation and computer science.
